Classes

Below is a brief description of the various classes we offer. All classes are mixed male and female although on occassion we will segragate and give male/female specific tuition. Ages range from 17 to 54 and don't be concerned about your level of fitness or any long standing injuries as these will be catered for in class.

KRAV MAGA

Krav Maga is not a martial art. It's primary purpose is self defence, developing the mind and the body for the rigours of a confrontation.

In our Krav Maga classes expect to be trained and challenged in delaing with grabbing and striking attacks, weapon threats, ground situations and mutliple opponents in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, day and night.

We don't need to hype the system. The fact that so many military and police units, as well as civilians practice the system is proof enough that Krav Maga has something serious to offer. Krav Maga is an obvious choice for someone serious about self defence.

     
     

KRAV FITNESS

Our one hour Krav Fitness classes are a high energy always on the move workout to motivating music. These classes will develop your all round fitness to provide a solid base for your self defence techniques as well as improving your strength and endurance.

If want a fast track improvement in your fitness and be at optimum weight then take these classes. And unlike the classes you get at commercial gyms, we teach you correct fighting technique so you doubly benefit from the hour you spend with us.

Oh and don't worry about your age or level of fitness - you go at your own pace but we make sure you get a good workout!

     
     

KRAV SPARRING

For those that want to go a little harder we have special sessions that teach you how to spar the safe way. Classes start with an intense warmup and then we move to fighting technique and tactics so that we guide you through the process of learning how to fight with some contact.

Those that may be put off contact sparring at other gyms find that our way is safe and non-threatening but still challenging. We follow a method that is based on Muay Thai but is compatible with the Krav Maga we teach.

     
     

GRAPPLING AND BJJ

If you are particularly concerned about having to defend yourself on the ground then BJJ is what you are looking for. This system compliments the work we do in Krav Maga and is a system dedicated to defeating any opponent you come up against on the ground.

Your idea of fun may not be wrestling but the ground is not a place to be in a confrontation so BJJ teaches you to swiftly get out of those classi bad situations where your opponent has you pinned on the ground.

More than that, if you have ever done any ground work you will know that it taxes you in a way that stand-up fighting doesn't so you will gain another dimension to your fitness.

     

WEAPONS

The SDT Weapons classes focus on teaching you to use common objects, sticks and knives in self defence as well as defending against them. While mainly drawn from the Filipino systems of Eskrima or Arnis, the material is linked to and compatible with the weapons lessons in Krav Maga. It just takes it further for those that have an interest in this area.

The Filipino systems are renowned for their adeptness at using impact and edged weapons as well as dealing with situations where you are unarmed and facing such weapons. Training in these classes will greatly increase your confidence in this area.
